Man In Stolen Car Crashes Into Woman Driving Stolen Car During Police Chase

An Oregon man allegedly driving a stolen car unintentionally helped police capture another suspected car thief after crashing into her stolen vehicle.

Police in Newberg tried to pull over the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser that was reported stolen. The driver, identified as Randy Lee Cooper, fled the scene and officers gave chase. After a few blocks, the pursuit came to an abrupt end when Cooper slammed into a Buick Regal. As officers took Cooper into custody, they learned that the Buick had been reported stolen three weeks ago.

They identified the driver of the Buick as Kristin Nicole Begue. She appeared to be under the influence and failed a field sobriety test. She was also taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Cooper is facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempting to elude police, assault, and reckless driving.
